Thought you caught us napping, did you? C'mon now, you know us all better than that! It's just all those fabulous holidays, plus reorganizing the shop, a new puppy, and before we knew it it was January 15th! How did that happen? I'm sure you can all relate... right?
So there are a couple of really great things to blog about. Drum roll, please! If you don't already know, The Quilter's Inn was chosen by Better Homes and Gardens to be one of the top ten quilt stores for the Spring Quilt Sampler! Whoooo hooo!!!
And now you have to be very impressed with how long we were able to keep this a secret! We had a visit in October from Nancy and Elizabeth and two photographers (sorry guys, can't remember your names) from Better Homes and Gardens. They spent most of an entire day with us, and were absolutely delightful. So stay tuned for the release in May. You can pre-order your copy now by calling or emailing us. How fun is that?
Then right around Christmas Jane went online to a site for long-haired dachsunds, and fell instantly in love. And she wasn't the only one, but some of us already have a dog, or cats, or...Anyway, it wasn't long before Dash arrived. He is just adorable, as his photos will show. He isn't exactly a store dog, but he does make frequent visits. One day you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of him. He gives great kisses!
So we can't do a blog without mentioning fabric. So many new deliveries! Our UPS guy, Shane, never complains about all of the boxes he has been bringing us, and always greets us with a smile. We chuckle over the fact that he always wears shorts, even in the last huge rainfall. He's extremely good natured.
So the newest beauties include lots of Kaffes, Valori Wells' Sole Flannel bright flannels (think quilt backs, pajama bottoms, nightgowns), and the Laurel line from Moda. Just gorgeous!
Bonnie Roach was just here and bought pieces of the new Party line from Makower UK. She's planning to make Diana and Laura's Party Time Table Runner (From Me to You patterns) to use whenever her grandchildren visit for their birthdays.
One last thing, and then we'll save some info for the next blog. And hopefully it won't be so long til the next one. Stay tuned, and check out our newsletter and classes on our website.
Cheers, and thanks for your support during the holidays, and always. We appreciate every one of you--yes, you know who you are.

So Many Things to Do, So Little Time
Phew! Our collective heads are bursting at the seams. Could it have anything to do with the fact that it's the holiday season?
So much to tell you all since the last post. We've been so busy that we "forgot" to do a blog in the last week.
To start, our hats are off to Marsha Miller for a wonderful job on her version of Cyndy's Mt. Diablo pattern. Marsha chose to do hers in greens, purples, etc. and it turned out beautifully! Thanks for bringing it in to show it off. We love seeing what all of you are up to!
Little did we all know that last Saturday, Dec. 8th, was National Horse Day. But as some of you know, our picture windows face the Iron Horse Trail, and at about 10 a.m. there was quite a grand parade of horses with their riders, kids on bikes, and pulling up the rear a woman with a wheel barrow to clean up, well, let's just say what the horses left behind. What a good sport!
Gabe, our favorite postman, brought us a huge package from Australia last week. Come and get em quick. And just what are "they" you might be asking? YAZZI BAGS!! You have got to come in and see them. Bright green, orange, and fuchsia bags with zippered pockets. Great for quilting notions, jewelry, beads, and whatever. But they are going fast. Need a good gift? Think Yazzi.
We'll talk to y'all soon....

OK, so we're still learning how to do this blog thingy. One of these days we'll get photos AND text together in one posting. Until then, bear with us.
We were thrilled to see a quilt top made by Holly Kersis with the blocks shown. It's an adorable Bunny Hill design from a couple of years ago, and Holly did a fabulous job. As someone who doesn't do a lot of applique or embroidery, this kind of quilt seems like an impossible dream. But that's what is so wonderful about having such wonderful customers. Each of you has a unique style, stash, etc., and we love it when you bring in quilts, pillows, dolls, dog or cat beds, etc. to share with us. You're as inspiring to us as we are to you!
We hope that in the midst of this potentially crazy season that you are finding time for yourself, especially doing the things you love. Like quilting, of course. If you are making something for someone for the holidays, stop a minute and pat yourself on the back. What a way to show the love.

Can you believe what an amazing day we had for Thanksgiving? Talk about an attitude of gratitude! Hope you all found some time to step outside to enjoy the sunshine. Maybe you even found time to sew while the turkey was cooking.
No matter how you cooked your turkey, wasn't the all-day aroma as good as actually digging in when it came time to eat? And then there is the delicious perfume of the onion and celery being sauteed in butter, and pumpkin pie in the oven.
And the leftovers--Bliss! Is there anything better than a huge Dagwood sized turkey sandwich with stuffing, cranberry sauce, mayo, and lettuce?
Yes, there is!!! Sale fabric! Did you know we have bolts and bolts of fabrics that are 50% off? And Christmas is 25%. Come help us clear up some space for all of the new fabrics we found at Market.
Stay tuned for the new class schedule--it is under construction!
Enjoy these last days of Indian summer. Glorious!
So come on down and visit. We'll be happy to see you.
